Relevance. Under the conditions of full-scale military actions in Ukraine, the interaction between the military and agricultural sectors has become critically important for ensuring the country’s economic, food, and national security. The functioning of the agricultural sector directly affects the resilience of food supply chains, while military logistics determines the ability of the defense forces to maintain continuity of operations. In the context of systemic risks, infrastructure destruction, disruption of transport routes, and resource shortages, the integration of these two logistics systems becomes a key prerequisite for economic stability and the effectiveness of defense processes.
Purpose of the Research is to provide a scientific justification of the interaction mechanisms between military and agricultural logistics in Ukraine, identify the features of their integration, and develop coordination models that ensure the resilience of supply chains under wartime conditions.
Methods. The study employs methods of analysis and synthesis to generalize theoretical approaches to logistics support in the military and agricultural sectors; structural-logical and comparative methods to assess the similarities and differences between their supply systems; methods of detailing, generalization, and systems analysis to determine an integrated logistics contour between the sectors. Statistical data, reports of governmental institutions, and analytical materials of international organizations constitute the information base of the study.
Results. The study identifies the key conditions under which military and agricultural logistics form a unified functional space: shared dependence on transport, energy, and storage infrastructure; critical importance of access to fuel, machinery, transshipment capacities, and transport corridors; and the need for coordination in resource planning and distribution. It is substantiated that the agricultural sector provides the army with food autonomy and partially with resources (fuel, machinery, personnel), while military logistics ensures the security and functioning of agricultural transport routes, protects critical infrastructure, and maintains export and domestic supply corridors. Practical cases of synergy are presented, including the development of alternative export routes (Danube cluster, EU railway corridors), modernization and decentralization of elevator infrastructure, use of agricultural machinery for defense needs, and involvement of private logistics companies in supplying military units.
Practical Value of the Study. The research results can be used by public authorities, agricultural enterprises, defense institutions, and analytical centers to develop integrated logistics strategies, enhance the resilience of supply chains, adapt agricultural infrastructure to wartime challenges, and optimize resource provision for the armed forces.
Conclusions. The interaction between military and agricultural logistics forms a new architecture of the national logistics space, where both sectors function as interdependent components of the system ensuring state security. Effective integration of these sectors strengthens defense capabilities, stabilizes food supply, enhances the resilience of transport infrastructure, and minimizes risks associated with wartime threats. The development of comprehensive cross-sectoral logistics models and coordination mechanisms is identified as a strategic direction for ensuring Ukraine’s economic and national security under prolonged military challenges.
